Week 27 in Berlin: JUN 30-JUL 06
Social Butterfly Club, Moonshine Comedy, Pub Quiz, Silent Book Club, Street Art Festival, Vintage Typewriters, Rooftop Concert, Barrel Organ Festival
Hello my dear social butterflies! 🦋
What an insane week it was — from bureaucratic appointments to strategic planning and execution, from family events to meetups and coaching sessions, it had everything. Even though I’m incredibly busy right now, I truly feel like I’m living my best life and enjoying every minute of it. Still, I’m very grateful that there’s a free day coming up next week.
This week, I hit two big milestones — and I actually took the time to celebrate. I have a feeling this one will stick in my memory for quite a while.
Next week is going to be hot (37° on Wednesday!), so you better find a shady spot at a lake, hide in a parking garage, or retreat to any other underground facility. I also highly recommend the rooftop bar concert I mention below — or at least a quiet reading session in your favorite park.
The Social Butterfly Club is getting ready to fly, and as usual, I’ll start with a few club updates and our planned meetups before diving into this week’s event tips.
Lots of love,
Julia 💙

🎉 AUG 14 – 3 YEARS ANNIVERSARY + CLUB LAUNCH
I’m beyond excited: I booked the Zenner beer garden, and we’ll celebrate right next to the Spree river! This will be our biggest party yet — and I’m already dreaming up ways to make it extra special. Butterfly cupcakes, anyone? 🍰 I’ve also heard lots of other fun ideas from community members. If you’ve got one, hit me up!

🦋 What is the Social Butterfly Club
The Social Butterfly Club is a Berlin-based community for people who want to explore the city — and meet others while doing it.
It’s for the curious, the kind, the shy-but-trying, the socially tired, the socially excited, the “I just moved here,” and the “I’ve been here forever but want something new.”
We meet online and offline to share tips, attend events together, and build small, meaningful connections.
No pressure. No posing. No awkward networking games.
Just real people, real city, real life.

Quizzyfass im Sisyfass
📅 Wednesday, JUL 02
🕰️ 8pm
📍 Sisyfass, Wildenbruchstr. 7, 12045 Berlin (Maps)
🎟️ 4€ (Tickets)
Hey, my name is eavo and I invite you to my quiz. It's called Quizzyfass and is intended for teams. You can expect an exciting evening in which, in addition to the competitive element, the entertainment aspect will be at the forefront and hopefully you will leave with a few more exciting stories than you came in with.
You can look forward to colorful questions on curious and interesting topics from all kinds of areas, for example current affairs, the animal kingdom, the Internet, society, (pop) culture, literature, cinema or even science, history and geography. And to be honest: I don't ask many sports and gossip questions, but they can happen.
My questions are written for teams and therefore not always easy, but you can also work out many of the answers. I often offer a second solution. And if the answer is not completely wrong, I am happy to award half the points.
💁♀️ I know you love pub quizzes more than I do ;) They tend to sell out fast, so make sure to save your spot.

FreeWritingWorkshop with vintage typewriters
📅 Friday, JUL 04
🕰️ 4-9pm
📍 Belmundo, Winterfeldtstraße 36, 10781 Berlin (Maps)
🎟️ FREE
„Free Writing Machines“ is a Berlin-based project that offers writing sessions with vintage typewriters. Using these devices, one must slow down, be present, and concentrate. They help you create without distractions or suggestions from a screen.
Blank paper is provided for free-writing. There are also pages with prompts to get you started.
One typewriter is set up to create a collaborative poem, where each person writes one line, but you can only read the previous line of the poem, and not from the start of the poem.
Come between 16 and 18 for a tutorial on how to use a typewriter and tips for typing technique.
These machines are mechanical and sonic, and so can be played as musical instruments. At 19:00, we will make an improvised percussive performance together.
💁♀️ Very unique event. My grandmother used to have typewriters. We liked to play with it as kids. This is your chance to do the same.

Sungjoon, the soulful South Korean singer-songwriter behind that viral Radiohead cover (20M+ views) that turned London’s streets into a stage. (check it on instagram or youtube)
💁♀️ More and more rooftop bars are popping up in Berlin and this concert has caught my eye.

DOWN BY THE RIVER FESTIVAL 2025
📅 Sunday, JUL 06
🕰️ 1-11pm
📍 ://about blank, Markgrafendamm 24c, 10245 Berlin (Maps)
🎟️ 16,32 to 24,74 € (Tickets)
One day, two stages, ten acts and lots of surprises!
A festival like a grab bag: Down by the River has once again put out its feelers. With a tireless spirit of discovery, it has explored the depths of the Berlin's live cosmos and beyond. Its musical finds will be presented by the "Festival for unheard-of and crooked sounds" on July 6, 2025 at its 14th edition, once again in the idyllic and anarchic garden ambience of ://about blank in Friedrichshain. The program swirls through the genres and the regional underground, across the planet and even into outer space.
With: Adi Scotheque (country-sleaze), Culture Crush (dystopian disco), Fastmusic (minimal-
pop), Kaskadeur (heavy prog), Lail & Lomar (future jazz), Rita Braga (cosmo-pop),
Sedlmeir (Hard-Schlager), Vandalisbin (Queer-Soul), Vasylysa (Emo-Folk), YodelRoar
(Dudel'n'Yodel) and Selbstgebaute Musik (moderation, installation & performance)
💁♀️ Summer time is festival time. I prefer smaller festivals like this over the big ones.
